The Edge Performing Arts Inc. Summer Camp School Policies 

Registration and Parent/Guardian Policy

1. Registration must be submitted online. You can not register in person / text / email / messenger / social media


2. Administration fee of $25 is due at time of registration. Administration Fee covers the expense of crafts, record keeping, accounting, insurance, legal, camp supplies, cleaning supplies due to COVID-19 and other administrative costs. Admin fee of $25 individual / $35 family is applied per registration form submitted, if you submit a second registration form for additional camp the admin fee will be applied. Administration fee changes the week before camp commences.


3. Registration is on a first come first serve basis. 


4. Request/Inquiry to Register Submission does not secure your spot. 


5. Registration is accepted when Registration Form has been received and invoice has been paid.


6. The Edge Performing Arts Inc. Reserves the right to refuse and or cancel a students registration and enrolment at any time.


7. If registration is split between two parties, complete payment and agreement submission from both parties is required for student to be permitted in class. Each party must submit a registration form.


8. A dancer will not be permitted to attend camp if a payment is not received.


9. The Edge Performing Arts Inc., assumes no responsibility for lost, stolen or damaged goods.


10. A minimum of 5 students need to be enrolled in order for a camp to run.


11. There are no refunds or transfers of fees on any payments received by The Edge Performing Arts Inc. including the unused portion of a Camp Payment, Term Payment, Admin fee, Media fee, Missed classes, Choreography fees, Costume fee, Competition fees, Rehearsal fees, Dance gear and other Merchandise purchase. 


12. Please pick up your dancer promptly after class.


13. Students under the age of six years are not permitted in the studio with out a parent/guardian present when they are not in camp. Have a designated adult chaperone before and after camp.


14. It is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to ensure that we are informed of any change in telephone number, address, contact info in the event of emergency. Any medical conditions and treatment that apply to your child should also be indicated on your registration form. 


15. It is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to read and respond to emails in a timely manner. Parents/Guardians are responsible to pay fees due to lack of communication.


16. Parent responsible to keep child home with any symptoms.


17. If camp can not run due to Government Restrictions camp will be refunded.  $25 Administration fee is non refundable. 


18. If you need to change a camp week a $40 administration fee will be applied if there is availability in that week. 


19. Processing fees are non refundable.


20.  Camp fees are non transferable to other programs or siblings.


21. Five day and Four day Camp fees are discounted at different rates.


22. The Director is not the sole instructor.  Instructors, Guest Teachers, Substitute Teachers are highly qualified instructors and may instruct your camp.


23. The Edge School of Performing Arts (The Edge Performing Arts Inc.) Reserves the right to refuse admission of entry if clients are not adhering to our policies put into place due to COVID-19.  


24. The Edge School of Performing Arts (The Edge Performing Arts Inc.) will be following the recommended provincial guidelines and protocols to prevent the transmission of infection for COVID-19. The Edge School of Performing Arts (The Edge Performing Arts Inc.) will do their utmost to ensure the safety of participating families, dancers, and staff at the studio.  Extra time and care will be in place for cleaning and sanitization which may be performed before, during and after hours of operation. Please note there may be times that classes will have to be shortened or start late by 5-10 minutes to allow staff to sanitize accordingly. Camp fees will not be adjusted if such prevention measures for the spread of COVID-19 take place during your dancer's class time.

Cancellation Policy

In the case you need to cancel you must submit your request to The Edge School of Performing Arts (The Edge Performing Arts Inc.) by email to info@TheEdgePA.ca Once notice is received, full refund will be provided minus $50 cancellation fee per dancer. If you need to cancel less than 1 week in advance of the camp start date a refund will be issued minus $75 cancellation fee per dancer.  If you need to cancel within 48 hours of the camp start date: no refund.

- Administration Fee is non refundable.  The administration fee is pertaining to expenses and overhead costs of running the dance camp i.e. staff, art supplies for campers and added cleaning supplies due to COVID-19.

- Concessions will be made in the event of an unavoidable medical cancellation. Should you need to cancel your registration on medical grounds we ask that you provide a signed medical note from your Doctor and that you contact the The Edge School of Performing Arts directly to discuss the cancellation. In a case of major illness, injury, or serious family situation while at camp, refunds will be provided minus $50 cancellation fee and the days spent at camp. 

- Requests made via social media, or personal messages are not considered valid for cancellation request.
- There is no grace period or negotiation based on attendance.
- If you have more then one dancer registered and one dancer cancels, there is no transferring of fees.
- Refunds are issued to the card that was used to make the purchase.

- Allow 30 days for a refund to process.

- Refunds are processed via Square to the original payment method.

Classroom and Code Of Conduct Policy

- The Edge School of Performing Arts (The Edge Performing Arts Inc.)  has the right to reserve and change the dance platform.
- Respect for teachers, parents and peers will be expected at all times.
- Respect others personal space.
- Appropriate attire.
- No swearing or foul language.
- No cellphone use during class.

Attendance Policy

- Guardians are responsible for communicating absences to The Edge School of Performing Arts through email at info@TheEdgePA.ca in advance when possible.  If The Edge School of Performing Arts doesn't receive a response within 48hours the dancer will not be able to attend their next class until communication has been received and the dancer is cleared to return to class.

School Closure Policy

Bad Weather:
1. Classes cancelled due to inclement or bad weather will not be made up. If studio is closed for reasons outside of our control, we are not obligated to have a make up class.  When The Edge School of Performing Arts is closed due to inclement weather, classes are cancelled and not moved to "virtual classroom". 

2. When classes are moved to "virtual classroom" and not able to be delivered virtually for reasons outside of our control we are not obligated to have a make up class. 
3. There are no refunds for cancelled classes.

4. Notifications of cancelled classes are sent via email from The Edge School of Performing Arts (The Edge Performing Arts Inc.) email address theedgepa@icloud.com by 3:30pm and posted on Website TheEdgePA.ca


Pandemic / Closure for reasons outside of our control:
The Edge School of Performing Arts (The Edge Performing Arts Inc.), can not refund tuition if forced to close due to an event out of their control ie. war, riots, pandemic, natural disaster, power outage, political protests, terrorism.

Illness/Injury Policy

Illness

- All students are requested not to attend class if feeling unwell which include symptoms of cough or cold, temperature or any other symptoms.  We require all students and parents to wash and disinfect their hands upon entering the studio and after every washroom use.  Dancers are required to use hand sanitizer when exiting studio in order to stop the spread of any germs. If you do not wish to use the hand sanitizers that we provide, parents and dancers will have to use their own hand sanitizer witnessed by our staff member or Director.   No Loitering is permitted in the foyer. 
- No make up classes, pro-rate fees or refunds for missed classes due to illness or injury.
Injury / Concussion
- a doctors note must be submitted if dancer is unable to participate due to injury/concussion
- a doctors note permitting dancer to return to class must be submitted in order for dancer to resume classes

Virtual Lesson Policy: Lessons created by The Edge School of Performing Arts (The Edge Performing Arts Inc.) Disclaimer and Safety Instructions:

There are risks of injuries when you are taking these virtual/online lessons.
Injuries such as, but not limited to, muscle ache, injured ankles and knees, cartilage and ligament damage.
You are responsible for warming up your body and creating an environment suitable for your own safety and to prevent accidents.
Incase of injury and/or material damage while doing these virtual/online classes you agree not to hold The Edge Performing Arts Inc. or employees responsible.
Safety Instructions
1. Wear comfortable clothing
2. Create enough room space to move around
3. Do a warm up! Stretch your muscles

Payment Option Policy

You will be emailed an invoice via Square
- You can pay securely through the Square invoice that has been sent. Square accepts Visa, MasterCard, Amex, Discover credit cards and Visa debit cards.

Photo Release Policy

Occasionally The Edge School of Performing Arts (The Edge Performing Arts Inc.), will post photographs and/or video of students on their website. I consent that they may do so for advertising and promotional purposes without compensation to my child or myself. If I do not wish for images of my child to be used, I must email info@TheEdgePA.ca with the subject Cancel Photo Release in the subject line. Please advise your child's name in the email. Families that cancel Photo Release by email should not participate in the class pictures taken throughout the camp as these photos WILL be posted. 

It is forbidden that any individual, corporation or organization to any way copy or use the photographs from the website for any purpose without the consent and written permission of The Edge School of Performing Arts (The Edge Performing Arts Inc.) 
The Edge School of Performing Arts (The Edge Performing Arts Inc.) does not authorize to have their routines (groups/duet/trio/solos) posted on social media. Videos are for personal use only. Written permission from the choreographer and other participants is required to release the routine. If permission is granted, a maximum of 40 seconds may be posted giving credentials to the choreographer and The Edge School of Performing Arts.

Privacy Policy

When you register for camps, classes or workshops at The Edge School of Performing Arts (The Edge Performing Arts Inc.), the information we may collect from you includes your name, address, telephone numbers, email addresses, medical information. It may also include details of the products and services we provide to you as well as the status of your enrolment. We only collect information directly from the parent/guardians primarily for the purpose of providing services and products to you and to administer and manage invoicing and debt collection. We may occasionally use your information to promote and market to you information which we consider may be of interest to you unless you contact us and tell us not to do so. We will never sell or pass on any of your information to third parties unless required by government authorities or in the event of debt recovery. Any information passed on will be done so with appropriate privacy and confidentiality protection. Information is stored securely in paper or electronic form and is accessible only by authorized personnel. If you would like to know what information we hold about you or wish to update the information, or if you wish to be removed from all further direct marketing communications, please contact our office at info@TheEdgePA.ca

Medical Release Policy

I/We agree that my dependent or I give my permission for a member of The Edge School of Performing Arts (The Edge Performing Arts Inc.), to take myself or my child to a medical/dental facility if necessary.  In case of emergency, if none of the above can be contacted, we herby give our consent for emergency medical care prescribed by a duly licensed doctor of Medicine or Doctor of  Dentistry.  This care maybe given under whatever conditions are necessary to preserve the life, limb or well- being of my dependant.  We hereby accept full responsibility for all costs of said medical care or emergency treatments.  We hereby waive all claims whatsoever in connection with such medical treatments. 

Waiver and Release Policy

I/We Agree that if my dependent or I engage in any physical exercise, class or activity on the premises, any venue or virtual lesson where we participate as representative of The Edge School of Performing Arts (The Edge Performing Arts Inc.) , we do so at our own risk.  We agree that we are voluntarily participating in activity and use said facilities, premises (including parking lot) and designated The Edge School of Performing Arts (The Edge Performing Arts Inc.) venues.  We assume all risk of injury, illness, damage, or loss to us or our property that might result, including, without limitation, any loss or theft of any personal property.  We agree that this consent and assumption of risk statement covers each and every event or activity sponsored by The Edge School of Performing Arts (The Edge Performing Arts Inc.)  and your affiliates and related parties an their respective directors, officers, employees, agents, instructors, insurers, shareholders, owners, operators from any and all liability and any and all claims, demands and causes of action of any kind whatsoever that we may have arising out of participation in a program or related activity, including as a result of negligence.  We acknowledge that we have carefully read this Waiver and Release and full understand that it is release of liability.  We are waiving  any right that we may have to bring legal action to assert  a claim against you for your negligence. 

COVID-19 Release Policy

COVID-19 Release Policy: The novel coronavirus, COVID-19, has been declared a worldwide pandemic by the World Health Organization. COVID-19 is extremely contagious and is believed to spread mainly from person-to-person contact. It is believed that an individual can be in infected with COVID-19 without their knowledge and be asymptomatic. The Edge Performing Arts Inc. has put in place preventative measures to reduce the spread of COVID-19. However, The Edge Performing Arts Inc. cannot guarantee that I or anyone else will not become infected with COVID-19, including my spouse, guests, unborn child, or relatives. Participation in a The Edge Performing Arts Inc. program(s), related event, or activity, could increase the risk of contracting COVID-19. By signing this agreement, I ACKNOWLEDGE the contagious nature of COVID-19 and VOLUNTARILY ASSUME THE RISK that I may be exposed to or infected by COVID-19 by participating in a The Edge Performing Arts Inc. program(s), related event, or activity, and that such exposure or infection may result in personal injury, illness, permanent disability, and death to myself, my spouse, guests, unborn child, or relatives. I understand that the risk of becoming exposed to or infected by COVID-19 at a The Edge Performing Arts Inc. program(s), related event, or activity may result from the actions, omissions, or negligence of myself or others, including, but not limited to, The Edge Performing Arts Inc. employees, volunteers, and program participants. I UNDERSTAND AND VOLUNTARILY ACCEPT AND ASSUME ALL the foregoing risks related to COVID-19 and accept sole responsibility for any injury or illness that may occur. Further, I UNDERSTAND AND AGREE that this release includes any Claims based on the actions, omissions, or negligence of The Edge Performing Arts Inc., its employees, agents, and representatives, whether a COVID-19 infection occurs before, during, or after participation in any The Edge Performing Arts Inc. program(s), related event, or activity.
